Not the kind of lottery that makes a fellow rich in Trump meme bitcoin. On our second try, we won the lottery for a Grand Canyon National Park Backcountry Permit. Looks like we may be hiking down to Bright Angel Campground sometime in November.
Time to get our backpacks out this fall and do some training. Julia has never backpacked before.

OMG!!! Congratulations!!!!
All right!
And here I am contemplating a return visit to the air-conditioned MH and RV Hall of Fame
Julia is really excited! Hiking the Grand Canyon is on her bucket list to do before hips or knees go. I would rather hike up a mountain than down into a canyon, but it will still be fun.
We're closing in on 10 days since ur last post. Your children may not care, but at least *one* person is wondering what you've been up to?
Blogger has not been timely updating the blog rolls. The last post has been up for awhile. https://brewedjourney.blogspot.com/2026/07/summertime-and-living-is-easy-sometimes.html
As an update to this post, Julia and I secured our actual reservations yesterday during the early access period We will be backpacking to the floor of the Grand Canyon for two nights in November and tenting at Bright Angel Campground. Compare $70 for two people DIY via the lottery vs. $1000/person with a private tour company.
