Plan B

Our plans to camp on the banks of the Mississippi fell apart when we arrived at Spruce Creek County Park north of Bellevue, Iowa. The gates were locked and barricaded, despite the park’s web page declaring an opening date of April 1st.

Bellevue is a beautiful little river town.

We stopped for Mexican food and walked up and down the sidewalks above the river.  We then drove south in search of an open campground.

You were only a couple hours away from the Toppling Goliath Brewery in Decorah which has some of the highest rated beers. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/top-rated/
On my bucket list. Hopefully sooner than later.

We can get Toppling Goliath beers in Madison now, and they are excellent. A visit is on my list too, but we are heading the other direction this trip.

Bellevue’s River Ridge Brewery and Muscatine’s Contrary Brewery are really good too.

Chocolate Milk and Quail
